Shiisu said the deceased, identified as Musa Ahmad, 12, Yusuf Ahmad, 7, and Alkasim Muhammad, 14, drowned in the river on Wednesday, January 19.
“On 01/19/2022 around 8 pm, Insp Alhassan Sule, in charge of Gaduwa Police Post, Guri Division Headquarters, reported that, three boys namely Musa Ahmad, 12, Yusuf Ahmad, 7, and Alkasim Muhammad, 14, all from Kazamaki Fulani Settlement Guri LGA, while herding camels.
“By the way, I went to a stream located in Kazamaki village and drowned in the process of swimming across the river,” Shiisu said.
He explained that upon receiving the report, natives of the town went to the scene and recovered the bodies of the deceased.
The PPRO added that the bodies were taken to Hadejia General Hospital, where they were certified as dead by the doctor on duty.
According to him, the bodies were later handed over to relatives for burial, after the preliminary investigation revealed that no crime was suspected in connection with the incident.
