Chicago Rapper Lil Durk Releases Eighth Studio Album, “Almost Healed”
Chicago-based rapper Lil Durk has released his eighth studio album, “Almost Healed” on May 26. The album contains 21 tracks and features collaborations with several heavy-hitters in the music industry, including Alicia Keys, Rob49, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, and Juice WRLD.
The lead single from the album, “All My Life”, features J. Cole and was produced by Dr. Luke. It has already topped both the Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
Explaining the significance of the album’s title, Durk shared a message with his fans on social media: “As The Voice, I’m speaking for us all and what we go through that everyone may not realize. Many young men like myself have faced some sort of trauma in their lives. This album is a representation of what transpires through difficult situations and the processes we go through while healing.”
Almost Healed is the follow-up to Durk’s 2022 album, “7220”, which featured collaborations with Future and Summer Walker and became his first solo No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was named after Durk’s grandmother’s address.
Outside of his music career, Durk has expanded into the business world with his NXTG3NZ sneaker collection. “I’ve always loved fashion and now it’s technology, so it just made sense to combine them two,” he said in an interview with REVOLT. Durk also shared his advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, saying, “You gotta believe in yourself and make sure you’re reading or learning every day and follow your passions. Do what you love. If you don’t love it, it won’t work.”
