Chelsea FC commemorates Jewish footballer Julius Hirsch on 80th anniversary of his death} Chelsea FC has marked the 80th anniversary of the death of Julius Hirsch, a German-Jewish football player who was persecuted by the Nazis and eventually murdered in Auschwitz in 1943.

The event saw representatives from the club, civil society and the Jewish community come together to pay tribute to the athlete’s legacy.

As part of its ongoing campaign to combat antisemitism, the club has donated a mural depicting the footballer, along with two others who were murdered during the Holocaust, to the National Holocaust Centre and Museum in Nottingham.

Additionally, the Chelsea Foundation has launched an education programme on antisemitism for secondary schools.
