Canadian Actress Samantha Weinstein Passes Away at 28 After Battle with Ovarian Cancer

The acting world mourns the loss of Canadian actress Samantha Weinstein, who died at the age of 28 after a two-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer. According to a tribute posted on her social media page, Weinstein passed away on May 14 in Toronto, surrounded by her loved ones. It read, “After two and a half years of cancer treatment, and a lifetime of jet setting around the world, voicing a plethora of cartoon animals, making music, and knowing more about life than most people ever will, she is off on her next adventure.”

Last July, Weinstein opened up about her diagnosis of cancer at 25, revealing that it happened almost overnight. She noted that she became bloated and that her roommate assured her it was normal. She then underwent surgery and dealt with intense chronic pain while questioning her health, career, and life.

During that time, Weinstein reconnected with her then-friend Michael Knutson, who later became her husband. She credited Knutson for his endless support throughout her battle with cancer. He taught her that love is selfless and reminded her to let others take care of her too.

Weinstein’s fans and colleagues took to social media to express their heartfelt condolences. Many of them praised her for being a talented actress, kindhearted person, and strong fighter.
