– Cambodia has attracted more than 1.57 million international visitors in the first 10 months of 2022, according to a report by the Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday.

During the January-October period, Thailand topped the chart for international tourist arrivals in Cambodia, according to the report.

It added that 35.5 percent of visitors entered the Southeast Asian kingdom by air, 63.8 percent by land and 0.7 percent by waterway.

“Based on this figure, Cambodia is expected to receive up to 2 million international tourists in the whole of 2022,” said Tourism Minister Thong Khon.
Tourism is one of the four main pillars that sustain Cambodia’s economy. In the pre-pandemic era, the kingdom received 6.6 million international tourists in 2019, generating revenue of US$4.92 billion.
Cambodia is well known for its three world heritage sites, namely Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap Province, Preah Vihear Temple in Preah Vihear Province and Sambor Prei Kuk Archaeological Site in Kampong Thom.
In addition, it has a virgin coastline of 450 km that stretches across four southwestern provinces. â–
