Cambodian National Police
Cambodian drug police have arrested two local women for possession and trafficking of illicit drugs, seizing more than 5kg of narcotics, the Cambodian National Police said on Tuesday.

The two suspects were detained during a raid on their rental home in Phnom Penh’s Prek Pnov district last Thursday after a months-long investigation.

“A total of 5.58 kg of methamphetamine was seized from the suspects during the crackdown,” the National Police said on its website.

The Southeast Asian country does not have a death sentence for a drug trafficker. Under his law, those found guilty of trafficking more than 80 grams of illicit drugs could be jailed for life.
According to the kingdom’s Anti-Drug Police Department (ADP), Cambodia apprehended 13,428 drug suspects, including 259 foreigners, during the period from January to November 2022, seizing a total of 13.4 tons of narcotics.
Most of the drugs seized are methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, ketamine, cathinone, heroin, ecstasy and cocaine, among others. ■
