This announcement happen during one news conference wey dem hold for the University Council Chamber on Wednesday. The VC come dey try reassure us say dis AI journey no go spoil the critical thinking wey make us humans sharp.
“AI no be future matter, na present matter we dey talk,” Asikhia talk with confidence wey fit make some people proud. E clear say dem no go use AI just anyhow, dem go first test am on top the postgraduate students. Na dem dey carry Bible verse for research so, na better judges dem go be!
Asikhia no stop for there, e explain say e get seven-point vision wey dem dey use reposition di institution. The vision go make Caleb University the fine center for academic excellence and innovation. “We wan run this place based on godly principles,” e add, as if say na church dem dey run.
Look, dem don already start to decentralise services, promote student-led chapel activities, and turn discipline to mentorship than wahala. Na soft approach straight to 10, no be to dey show pepper! Dem encourage students to start their businesses while dem still dey gather for lectures.
Plus, to help those wey no too dey shine for school, them introduce Caleb Academic Potentialisation Scheme (CAPS). No be all students dey sharp, some dey dull small, so this scheme go help dem through tutorials and mentorship. E dey sweet as dem dey think of everything, abi? (At least e no be to wear uniform only).
Asikhia also talk say dem dey set up citizenship committee to curb absenteeism and unseriousness. “We wan make sure say everybody dey serious for excel,” e talk, no be play.
When it come to governance, dem don draw strategic plan wey go help dem monitor performance well. The VC dey expect every lecturer to publish at least four Scopus-indexed papers yearly, so dem priority no be small!
Lastly, e talk say dem dey serious for climate action and sustainability. Dem don set up Green Student Council wey go dey push eco-friendly initiatives inside campus. “Our waste go become wealth, and environment go dey green and conducive for learning,” he say.
