President Muhammadu Buhari says it is imperative that people in leadership positions, especially those in the West African subregion, do the best they can for their people, despite shrinking resources everywhere.
The president made the statement on Friday at Government House, Abuja, when he received Burkina Faso’s outgoing Ambassador to Nigeria, Piabie Firmin Gregoire N’do, who spent eight years on his tour of duty in Nigeria.
According to the president, leaders must do what is best for their people within the limits of available resources.
He expressed optimism that the outgoing envoy would use his accumulated experiences in the field “for decision-making in his country when he returns.”
The outgoing envoy also expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s diverse support to Burkina Faso during the flood crisis, its national elections and at many other critical times.
She said she appreciated her stay in Nigeria, revealed that she had her last daughter in Nigeria, and noted that she would continue to have fond memories of Nigeria.
