Buhari leaves for Saudi Arabia Monday for investment summit, Umrah

President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Monday, October 25, for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the investment conference organized by the Future Investment Initiative Institute.

A statement from presidential spokesman Garba Shehu said the president would be accompanied to the 5th edition of the flagship investment event by business executives from Nigeria, bankers, industry captains and energy experts to discuss questions about the future of investments around the world.

The three-day event, themed INVESTMENT IN HUMANITY, which will host global leaders and asset managers, will deliberate on progress and prosperity with energy; real final frontiers in investments; science in action; and the impact of climate change on communities, among others.

Mr. Buhari will perform the Little Hajj (Umrah) in Medina and Mecca before returning to the country on Friday.

The President will be accompanied during the trip by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; national security adviser, Babagana Monguno; the director general of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; Director General of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, Uche Orji and Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Some private sector participants are: Aliko Dangote, Tope Shonubi, Wale Tinubu, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Hassan Usman, Omoboyode Olusanya, Abubakar Suleiman, Herbert Wigwe, Mohammed Indimi and Leo Stan Ekeh.
