The British Chamber of Commerce in Germany says companies are increasingly concerned by the insecurities regarding Brexit, according to the president of the Berlin-based chamber.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Michael Schmidt said on Wednesday that the atmosphere amongst companies was becoming tensed and nervous, due to Brexit.
“Insecurity is always bad for companies, which is why it will definitely be better to have Brexit end in horror than this unending horror.
“Should Britain leave the EU without a deal, this will bring many negative consequences for people in Britain as well as companies in the EU and in Germany.
“That’s why an extension will surely be good in my view, if there is hope that there will be an agreement later,“Schmidt said.
Earlier, British parliament was suspended by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
However, his plans to hold snap elections ahead of Brexit, scheduled for Oct. 31, were thwarted by opposition parties.
Meanwhile, under a newly passed law, Johnson would be forced to ask Brussels for an extension of the Brexit deadline if no deal had been passed in parliament on time.
