Boston Red Sox’s Justin Turner “Very Fortunate” After Getting Hit by Pitch
Boston Red Sox infielder Justin Turner expressed his gratitude on Twitter after getting hit in the face by a pitch from Detroit Tigers right-hander Matt Manning in the first inning of their game in Fort Myers, Florida.

Turner, who received 16 stitches at a local hospital, reported that his scans came back clear and he has no broken bones.

He also thanked Red Sox medical staff and Lee Health for their assistance.

Turner, 38, signed a two-year deal worth $22 million with the Red Sox in January.
He is a two-time All-Star with a batting average of .289, 164 homers, and 663 RBIs in 14 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets, and LA Dodgers.
