Borno CP confirms Boko Haram attack on Police Training College Gwoza

Borno State Police Commissioner Abdul Umar has confirmed the attack on the Mobile Police Training School, Gwoza, by Boko Haram fighters.

The police chief who disputed reports that insurgents kidnapped some mobile police said the attack happened on Thursday, January 13.

He noted that the terrorists were successfully repelled by the police.

Mr. Umar, while addressing a press conference in Maiduguri on Friday, said: “The attention of the Borno State Police Command has been focused on news circulating on social media, claiming that an undisclosed number of PMF personnel was kidnapped at the Police Mobile Training School. , Gwoza.

“The Command wants to categorically discredit the news as “fake news” and also inform the general public that the insurgents, who attacked the PMF training school on January 13, 2022 at around 2022 hours, were repelled with success by our brave officers. and men.”

He said: “Police did not record a single casualty or loss of firearms and no casualty by Police was recorded.”

Mr. Umar added that: “In this note, I am using this medium to draw the attention of the general public to ignore any misleading information that is likely to cause panic and disturb the peace of innocent citizens who are endlessly wandering in search of greener grass. , and assure them of our commitment, focus and determination to end the insurgency and other crimes and criminality in Borno State.”
