NEW YORK, NEW YORK — Rapper Bobby Shmurda don cancel im 2025 “Still Alive Tour” just one week before e go start, citing internal disputes and low ticket sales. For Instagram post wey Shmurda share on Tuesday, e apologize to im fans and take “full responsibility” for di wahala.
“I go through lawsuits with these guys @philipstengel wey dey work for @halotouring and @igetgwop, wey I suppose no better to do business with,” Shmurda write for di post. “Make dis one be life lesson to all business owners and affiliate. No leave anytin for anybody hand, no matter how much work you go do. Nobody go treat your work like you self go do am,” he added.
Shmurda include screenshots of a heated text exchange between him, Philip Stengel and Sergio Patillo, di founder and CEO of Oakstreet Media. Di exchange show say dem dey argue about how to promote di concert.
“Hey b*tch lmk if you need di book mailing address to sue me,” Stengel write back to Shmurda. “And anytime we fit run di fade, di no say na so e be.”
Patillo try to calm di matter down, writing, “We get moments wey no dey pretty for dis business, but no need to sue because men get argument.”
Stengel later respond to Shmurda’s claims, insisting say di tour cancellation no be about mismanagement, but low demand. “Average ticket sales across di markets na only 10 per city. Dat no viable under any circumstances, no matter di artist or budget,” Stengel explain.
He further state, “Bobby Shmurda dey vent publicly instead of accept performance metrics. Di frustration dey understandable, but di numbers no lie. Di problem no be promotion; na demand.” He continue talk dat if ten people dey buy tickets, no show go happen. “Dis post be distraction. Di facts na di facts,” e add.
For Instagram Story, Stengel show screenshots wey show say Shmurda don sell only five tickets for Washington, D.C., and none for Hampton, Virginia, or Denver, Colorado. Di canceled tour go cover 19 cities including Los Angeles, Houston, and Boston, starting from May 15 till June 19, 2025.
Dis cancellation don come as another setback for Shmurda, whose career no really take off well since e release from prison in 2021. Di artist dey face possible legal disputes and di backlash from fans as e dey find way to revive im career.
