Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) don declare two-day lockdown for South-East as dem prepare for the court appearance of their Prime Minister, Simon Ekpa, for Finland. This lockdown go happen for May 29 and 30 and dem say na to honour Ekpa and celebrate the Biafra cause.
According to Akparawa Sunny, wey be BRGIE Minister of Information, dis two days na important time for all Biafrans, both for di South-East and abroad. Na for November 2024, Finnish government arrest Ekpa along with four others, on top suspicion wey relate to terror activities, like inciting violence and financing terrorism. Dem fulani police accuse Ekpa say e dey use social media to promote wahala for South-East, wey wan target both civilian and authority. Na serious matter, no be small.
“We confirm say these two days na crucial for all Biafrans. Ekpa don dey detained since November 2024, and him go appear for Finnish court on May 29. All Biafrans suppose honour am as hero wey don sacrifice him life for Biafra,” BRGIE reason the matter.
Dem still cut off dem warning towards Ohanaeze leadership, make dem no try sabotage the Biafra independence movement. Na wa o! Meanwhile, BRGIE no dey play as dem don come talk say the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) dey seal shops for Onitsha Head Bridge Market, Anambra State. Dem dey impose fines from N500,000 to N700,000 on traders, wey BRGIE come call economic persecution.
“This fine wey NAFDAC dey impose no make sense! Dem dey punish over 5,000 traders without follow due process, this one go turn economic persecution because of the Biafra Independence Declaration. If dem no unseal these shops, Biafra government go take decisive steps,” dem talk.
Reports don come say over 1,000 shop owners don already pay dem fine, while many others dey struggle because of money matter. BRGIE no dey joke as dem declare May 29 to May 30, 2025, as time to remember Biafra heroes and heroines. Dem call for total lockdown for all Biafra lands, from hinterlands to coastal regions. “We urge all Biafrans to take this time seriously and reflect on our journey towards freedom,” dem add.
