Benfica Eyeing Second Straight Quarterfinal Berth

Benfica will aim to secure their place in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the second consecutive year as they take on Belgian side Club Brugge in their Round of 16 second leg matchup.

The Portuguese club carries a 2-0 aggregate lead and looks to hold serve in front of their home fans against a Club Brugge side that has struggled in recent months.

Despite being a force in the first half of the season, Club Brugge suffered a 3-0 loss to relegation-threatened Oostende over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Benfica is in excellent form on the offensive end, having scored 26 goals in 12 matches this year.

Leading the charge is Goncalo Ramos, who recently returned from injury and scored a brace in league play against Famalicao.

While Club Brugge may put up a fight, the task of overturning a two-goal deficit against a defensively sound Benfica side on the road is too great.
