Abuja, Nigeria — As Barau FC dey prepare for dem away match against Bayelsa United this Sunday for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), captain Salim Ali don shine him eye on maximum points. Dem go meet for the Samson Siasia Stadium for Yenagoa, and no be small match o!
Salim, wey don already show him self as goalkeeper plus captain, don talk say him dey very optimistic say dem go collet three points from the former NPFL champions. “We thank God we don land safely for Yenagoa. My guys dey alright, and I fit assure our fans say by God’s grace, we go carry all three points back to Kano,” Salim yan for im pre-match interview with the media. (E be like say this one na true confidence level!)
Last week, Salim show say him no dey joke as him make im NPFL debut against Enyimba and keep clean sheet as dem draw goalless. Now, him dey ready to double am as he hope make e no fit concede any goal for dis match too.
Meanwhile, Barau FC Technical Adviser, Ladan Bosso, wey dey face im former team, also get ginger. E don talk say e know Bayelsa United well, and he go use dat advantage to drive dem to victory. “Going to Yenagoa no be new thing for me. I hope say we go return to Kano with points,” Bosso talk. (Na true padi no go leave im fellow padi for wahala).
Barau FC, wey dem dey call Maliya Boys, dey try bounce back after dem draw against Enyimba last weekend for Sani Abacha Stadium where dem dominate ball but no fit put am for net. Bosso dey blame the result on football wahala — sometimes e dey go like dat. “We deserve to win, but na football be dat—if Enyimba fit come Kano carry point, we also fit go anywhere collect our points too!”
Na so Barau FC dey jive as dem dey find dat first win for the season. Dem dey gather momentum and dem supporters from Kano no dey slack; dem dey shell out serious backup! “The turnout for our last match show say people believe in us and we appreciate dem,” Bosso conclude.
So, as dem dey prepare to clash, all eyes dey on Yenagoa to see if Barau FC go fit carry the victory and make serious statement for dis season. Make we all just sit down, chop popcorn, and watch as e unfold.
