Gbenu said at the event that the building would be completed within six months before the expiration of his tenure in 2021.
“What we are doing here today is laying the foundation of a befitting PHC building where residents will be going anytime they are sick for treatment.
“This is part of our campaign promises which we have come to fulfill today.
“Health is wealth they say, and I believe it is only when one is healthy that he or she can do things right.
“I believe that with God on our side, the project will be completed in six months time,” he said.
The chairman said the rehabilitation of Farasimi PHC would not be neglected, promising that he would also touch other healthcare centres in the council.
He lauded the Alapa of Apa, Oba Adekanmi Ouekan, for donating the land for the project, and also for witnessing the historical foundation laying of the project in his community.
In his remarks, the Alapa of Apa commended the chairman for rendering selfless service to his people.
“I am the happiest man witnessing the laying of foundation for the PHC in my domain.
“I, therefore, appeal that such a gesture should be extended to other communities in the council, area,’’ the traditional ruler said.
Agoro said there was no person in the area that had not felt the impact of Gbenu in one way or the other.
Commenting, Mr Omoniyi Olufeyimi, the contractor handling the project, said that the building would consist of a mini hall, an antenatal hall, two consulting rooms, an eye clinic apartment and laboratories for tests.
