Di institution don consider legal action against di parent, as dem dey accuse her of painting di university and dia students in bad light. According to di university, Oladipupo, wey dey participate for di Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board programme, escape from di school premises without following di proper exit procedures.
Dem statement talk say, “Contrary to public assertions, di student in question leave di university unlawfully, without following di established protocols or obtaining proper clearance from university authorities.” Unverified reports suggest say dem find di student later for Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, near Lagos, where he don attend secondary school before.
Babcock University also reveal say di student’s roommates don raise concerns about his ‘suspicious behaviour’ as dem notice say he dey use ‘local sponge and black soap,’ wey dem claim dey create bad atmosphere for di room. Di student’s mother say she don give am those items to treat skin conditions, including one herbal mixture wey get lemon, turmeric, and neem leaves. “Her explanation no sit well with di roommates wey know di university strict policy against fetish or suspicious items on campus,” di university talk.
Di university claim say dem believe di mother’s story fit be cover for her son’s misbehaviour. Dem accuse Mrs. Fijabi say she don hinder regular monitoring processes by pleading with her son’s roommates make dem no report his absence to school authorities. “WhatsApp chat evidence dey available to support this,” di university talk, as dem flag di student’s absence during routine room inspections.
Dem don refer di matter go police and dey wait for detailed report. Babcock go make sure say Siwajuola and any other students involved go face di Student Disciplinary Committee to get fair hearing.
In di statement, di university emphasize say dem get right to seek legal action for any reputational damage wey dem incur from malicious and unfounded statements wey dem make against di institution. “We reserve di right to seek redress under di law for any reputational damage caused by malicious and unfounded statements made against di university. For dis matter, we no go hesitate to act if necessary,” di statement read.
Dem still remind say dem remain committed to nurturing responsible citizens and upholding their legacy as citadel of excellence and character. “We encourage parents and guardians to partner with us responsibly, respecting institutional processes rather than resorting to public misrepresentation,” di university state.
In one viral video wey Mrs. Fijabi share on Saturday, she dey cry as she dey appeal to di public make dem help find her son, wey she claim don dey missing since she drop am for school on Sunday, April 27. Di video show her say, “I dey school yesterday and dem talk say na so students dey behave, say dem fit dey hide for campus. But I no fit sleep for di past three days. Babcock University should please help me find my son.”
Earlier for one post, she don accuse di university say dem dey shield di last two students wey see her son before im disappear. “My son no be furniture. E don pass 72 hours since I last talk with am,” she write. However, for one follow-up post on Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Fijabi confirm say dem don find her son but she no reveal di details on how dem find am.
