An Australian bank robber tried to use a fake penis to pass a drug test while he was on parole, a court was told on Tuesday.
The duo, dubbed the Overall Bandits, said they were inspired by Australian and Hollywood heist films that depicted bank robbers as adventurers.
They were arrested and jailed in 2007 for 16 years.
Randall-Smith was released on parole after eight years.
On Tuesday, Randall-Smith, faced a judge at the South Australia District Court after he allegedly breached his parole in 2016 in another cinematic manner.
“You attended a drug test but attempted to falsify the test by the use of a false penis,” Judge Paul Cuthbertson said in the court.
“You claimed that your drug use was due to your partner using drugs and your parole was cancelled.”
After Randall-Smith was released on parole in 2014, he failed or avoided a number of mandatory urine tests, testing positive to cannabis and methamphetamines, which ultimately resulted in the fake penis incident that took place in March 2016 during his attempt to dupe the police.
He was then returned to prison.
The judge did not elaborate what kind of fake penis was used.
The judge set him a new non-parole period, which will make him eligible for release in May.
