Attacks: CP orders more personnel to Zaria

Mr. Umar Muri, Police Commissioner, Kaduna State Command ordered the immediate deployment of more personnel to Zaria in order to remedy the security situation in parts of the Emirate of Zazzau.

Muri revealed this when he paid a trusted visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Bamalli in Zaria on Monday.

He assured the emir that more police would be deployed to tackle banditry, kidnappings and other security concerns in the state.

CP urged community leaders to always work closely with the local vigilante.

He called on traditional leaders and residents of various communities to support the police and other sister agencies in intelligence gathering.

Earlier, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Homeland Security and Internal Affairs, said the purpose of the visit was to sympathize with the emirate council for the unfortunate incident that occurred at the school. Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic.

Aruwan said that while one student died, two professors and an unknown number of students abducted, some residents were also kidnapped on the Kofar Gayan Axis.

He said the entourage was in the emirate to build the confidence of the people.

He said that the armed forces, police, the director of the State Security Service and other security services as well as the government of Kaduna State were deeply concerned about the situation.

“There is a presence of security agencies in the 12 local government areas that make up the emirate of Zazzau, but it is not possible for us to be in every nook and cranny of the emirate.

“As you know, there is a labor shortage and other challenges.

“We are doing our best and also having success. Between January and March, the army and police were able to neutralize around 64 armed bandits in addition to many others during air bans, ” the commissioner said.

In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau denounced the deterioration of the security situation in parts of the emirate. noting that it has numerous police and military training courses as well as training institutions.

“There are many villages where the inhabitants cannot sleep because of the gunfire and the village chiefs cry profusely in the palace because of the deteriorating security conditions in their domain.

“This is how bad it is in parts of the emirate,” Bamalli said.

He praised the military for the planned deployment of additional personnel to stem insecurity in the emirate.

He also praised the efforts of the state government to appease the security situation in the emirate.

He urged key stakeholders to find innovative ways to save the emirate in particular, and the state in general.

Bamalli called on the state government to do more to meet the challenge. (NAA)
