Musa said the signing of the MOUs was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Executive Order 5 aimed at improving local content in public procurement of science, engineering and technological equipment.
He said that the Nigerian army had since keyed into the Federal Government’s desire to ensuring that individuals and organisations produced their basic needs.
Musa added that the army had manufactured some combat vehicles and equipment such as Mines Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAP) Infantry Patrol Vehicles, boots, steel helmet and fragment jacket among others.
He said the MoU was signed on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Lt.-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, while Maj.-Gen. AB Abubakar (rtd.) and Maj.-Gen. SS Araoye, signed for the firm and that of Command Engineering Depot respectively.
