The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), says it is “very impressed” with the performance of the state government led by Gov Bello Matawalle of the PDP.
Alhaji Aminu Umar, the party’s deputy governorship candidate in the 2019 general elections, who stated the party’s position on Thursday in Gusau, said that the state government was executing projects that would develop the state.
He was addressing a stakeholders meeting on peace, organised by Justice, Peace and Pacific Resolution Forum of Nigeria, an NGO.
“APGA is satisfied with the policies of the PDP-led state administration, especially in the areas of restoring peace and stability.
“We have seen positive changes through various interventions such as education, economy and security.
“On behalf of the entire APGA members in the state, I say that we are solidly behind this PDP-led state administration under Gov. Bello Matawalle.
“Our members played important roles leading to the emergence of this administration. So, the government should consider giving appointments to deserving members of APGA in the state,” he said.
In his remark, the Rector, Zamfara Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, Dr Sha’aya Shehu, urged people of the state to accept the changes brought by the state government in the areas of security, economy and general development.
“We should support the government and embark on prayers for the sustenance of the peace in Zamfara,” Shehu said.
Earlier, the National President of the NGO, Prof. Kabiru Jabaka, had said that the meeting was organised to review the previous challenges experienced by the state and the progress recorded by the current administration.
Jabaka urged people of the state to drop unnecessary opposition, as that political era had passed.
“Let’s join hands with government to move the state forward,” he stated.https://nnn.ng/apga-in-zamfara-impressed-with-gov-matawalles-performance-official/
