Ward Executives Disclose Suspension

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gwadabawa Ward of the Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State has suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha. The ward executives announced the decision to the media at the Gwadabawa Ward office in Yola.

Failure to Support Party at Ward Level

The APC ward executives revealed that Mustapha failed to support the party at the ward level during the presidential and governorship elections in the state. This was cited as the reason for the suspension, although no specific time frame for the suspension was given by the secretary of the APC in the ward, Abdulkarim Nuhu.

Election Results in Adamawa State

During the February 25 presidential election in Adamawa State, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won with 417,611 votes, beating President-elect Bola Tinubu of the APC, who polled 182,881 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who garnered 105,645 votes. Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) was fourth with 8,006 votes.

In the March 18 governorship election, which was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, APC’s Aishatu Dahiru garnered 390,275 votes, while the incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP polled 421,524 votes.

The suspension of Mustapha by the APC in Adamawa State highlights the importance of party loyalty and support at all levels of government. The party may use this case as an example to other members who fail to support the party’s interests, especially during election periods.
