APC Appoints 12 Senior Advocates of Nigeria to Defend Tinubu’s Mandate
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed 12 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) to defend the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu, in the just concluded election.

Tinubu received 8,794,726 votes in 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states, higher than his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came second with 6,984,520 votes.

The Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, finished with 6,101,533 votes.

Atiku and Obi have rejected the result and plan to seek redress in court.
In response, the APC released a statement on Tuesday appointing a team of experienced lawyers, consisting of twelve Senior Advocates of Nigeria and the National Legal Adviser of the party, to represent them at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The legal team is led by renowned lawyer Prince Lateef Fagbemi and includes legal experts in election petition matters, constitutional law, and litigation.
