Anthony Joshua’s comeback fight in London’s O2 Arena
Boxing star faces Jermaine Franklin in bid to bounce back from successive defeats
Anthony Joshua returns to the ring on Saturday night at London’s O2 Arena where he faces off against Jermaine Franklin, in his first fight in the venue since 2016. The bout marks a pivotal moment for Joshua, following his two successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.
The last few years have been the toughest of Joshua’s career, losing in a shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, and more recently to Usyk in 2021 and 2022. Joshua is looking forward to a fresh start with new trainer Derrick James guiding him ahead of this weekend’s fight.
The O2 Arena has played host to some of Joshua’s best fights, and he returns to the venue hoping to rekindle some of the magic from previous victories. The British boxer has previously fought there seven times, with the last being against Dominic Breazeale in 2015 before becoming a world champion a year later by beating Charles Martin.
