Angry mob torched 3 suspected motorcycle thieves in Lagos

By Adenike Ayodele

On Monday evening, a group of angry mobs delivered jungle justice to three suspected motorcycle thieves in the Ayobo neighborhood of Lagos.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the three suspects, who allegedly stole two new motorcycles in Olorunsola, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos, were set on fire after lynching them.

According to an eyewitness who requested anonymity, the suspects fled after allegedly stealing the motorcycles.

“Some commercial motorcyclists chased after suspected thieves and caught up with them along Koloba Road, off Alaja Road, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos.

“Two were initially captured and were instantly lynched to death, while the other ran to safety.

“He was then caught in one of the streets of Alaja and rolled over to join the other two before they were set on fire.

“The thieves also injured people as they tried to escape.

“Those who were injured were rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment,” the witness said.

Police have been drafted at the scene of the incident. (NAA)
