Angolan Petroleum Agency to host question and answer sessions for next application cycle

The Angolan National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) is organizing two question-and-answer sessions for investors around the world to clarify information on its ongoing tender for onshore oil and gas blocks in the Congo and Namibe basins.

The question-and-answer sessions, which will be hosted via a webinar, will highlight the oil and gas blocks in the Congo and Namibe basins currently on offer under the ongoing tender. Agency staff will be on hand to answer all questions relating to the current submission cycle, whether technical, legal or otherwise.

The agency, which relies on Energy Capital & Power to support its communications efforts, will host both sessions on May 12. The first session will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the second from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

AngolaThe current licensing cycle – along with existing gas monetization and downstream initiatives – represent a rare opportunity for Asian and US energy companies to expand their business in sub-Saharan Africa.s second largest oil and gas market.

Through the application cycle, Angola invites a new wave of explorers to take advantage of the promising opportunities in its land basins, which are expected to result in commercial discoveries, expand existing datasets and increase geological knowledge about the potential. oil from Angola. Given the lower exploration risk profile associated with the proposed coastal basins, the history of successful discoveries from Angola, and estimates that place the estimated recoverable resources at commercial quantities, demand is likely to be high. . In addition, Presidential Decree 6/19 encourages marginal investments in the field through attractive fiscal conditions, the development of small-scale and unconventional resources and thus provides high return opportunities for junior, independent and indigenous explorers.
