Amazon’s “Road House” Remake Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor is Set in the UFC World
Amazon’s investment in theatrical films pays off with the success of “Creed III” at the box office.

With recent developments, it is safe to say that Amazon is going all-in with another film set in the world of combat sports.

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in Amazon’s remake of the 1989 film “Road House” in the role of a former UFC fighter who takes on the job of a bouncer at a bar in the Florida Keys. The film also includes notable UFC personalities like Jay Hieron and Conor McGregor, who is making his screen debut through this project.

To create an authentic representation of the mixed martial arts league, the production team filmed scenes at a recent UFC fight.
Gyllenhaal and Hieron staged a weigh-in before their fight in the Octagon that was witnessed by the event’s attendees.
Amazon has not yet announced the film’s release date, but statements from the head of Amazon Studios suggest that “Road House” is a high priority for the studio.
