New Brunswick, Canada – E be like say music don lose one of him crown jewels, as renowned Nigerian musician and live-band leader, Akinloye Tofowomo, wey dem sabi as Akiin Shuga, don pass away on October 30, 2025. The man wey dey run Shuga Band and capture the hearts of many was just 50 years old.
The family don release statement wey go hit you for the chest, calling Akiin an icon wey redefine the music stage and pass the baton to many musicians wey dey follow. Dem talk say, “Akinloye Tofowomo was more than a musician; he was a custodian of rhythm, culture, and the spirit of performance.” (Na true meaning of music wey plenty people no fit understand.)
Akiin Shuga, wey be born on January 6, 1975, for Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, show say no matter the wahala wey life throw am (like polio wey catch am at five), e go always stand tall. E turn the Shuga Band, wey start for Pintos Bar, Ikeja, into one serious matter wey people go recognize for weddings, corporate events, and more.
As duped-up musician, Akiin Shuga no just dey perform well, him also get vision. E establish Shuga Entertainment, wey become number one standard for live shows, combining artistry and discipline like say na fine wine wey dey age. Dem fit talk say na him na-make-live-band-peeps-wey-know-how-and-know.
