Di theme for dis year, ‘Historical Consciousness and Human Justice,’ dey call on Africans to wake up and develop mindset wey go challenge and transform to fit shape di future.

We must get historical consciousness for di existence of an awakened Africa.” Odior emphasize say without dis consciousness, we no fit truly honor di legacies of influential figures like Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Queen Amina of Zaria, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Chinua Achebe, Thomas Sankara, Kwame Nkrumah, Harriet Tubman, and Queen Nzinga of Ndongo.
