AFCON: CBN Gov. assures of more support for Super Eagles

The Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, assured the Federal Government Super Eagles of the team's support in the quest for the fourth African Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in Cameroon.
Emefiele provided assurance when he visited the team in the company of senior officials from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in Garoua, Cameroon.
The CBN Governor praised the efforts of Super Eagles players and officials with a call to continue to be patriotic.
“He will continue to be rewarded, but more importantly, he must view this departure as a service to the nation.
I can assure you that everything is being done to make young Nigerians happy.
“Please continue to make Nigerians happy as you have done, the members of the government delegation are always present and ready to give you full support,” he said.
Rain of dollars for the Super EaglesEarlier, NFF President Amaju Pinnick thanked the CBN Governor and his delegation for the visit, vowing to always make the nation proud.
“In fact, we thank the extremely passionate lover of the Super Eagles, a member of the presidential delegation and the dynamic governor of CBN, Mr. Godwin Emiefele, who not only galvanized the private sector to support the Super Eagles at the last AFCON in which we came third, but he did it again in great style
“Sir, we took our hearts out.  The NFF and the Super Eagles are grateful for always being there for us,” he said.

The Nigerian News Agency  reports that the Super Eagles qualified for the Round of 16 in style after topping Group D with maximum points and will now face Tunisia on Sunday.
