Abuja, Nigeria – Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) don announce blackout for some areas of Abuja and surrounding districts. Dis development happen on Friday, and AEDC blame am on technical faults affecting their power supply systems.
In one statement wey dem release for their X handle, dem talk, ‘Dear Valued Customers in Jabi district, parts of Life Camp, Kado District, Aire Gas, Total Marble, Royal Ceramic, Artoland Rice, Faku Agro, Zohgfu along Kaduna Road, and surrounding areas. We regret to inform you say di power outage dey due to technical fault wey dey affect feeders wey dey serve these locations.’ Dem also add say, ‘Our dedicated technical team dey work to restore your power as soon as possible.’
Di AEDC appreciate di patience and understanding of di customers as dem work to serve beta. Previously, for di second week of April, AEDC also announce power outage wey affect parts of Federal Capital Territory and di surrounding areas. Dem inform say, ‘Dear valued customers in Maitama Panama Street, Kaduna Road, APC Quarters, Kantoma Empire Energy, Vertex, Royal Institute, and di surrounding areas, power outage dey due to technical fault on di feeder wey dey serve these areas.’
On March 31st, AEDC do similar announcement regarding blackout wey affect areas like Utako, Wuye, Jabi, Airport, and others. Dem talk say, ‘Dear valued customers wey dey for Aso Drive, NSA, NASS, NJC, FJC, Supreme Court, and military barracks wey dey around, make una sabi say power go dey off for some time.’
Earlier for February, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) also announce power outage for di Capital Territory, indicating say maintenance crews go dey work on di Transformers at di Apo 132/33kV Transmission Substation on February 22 and 23, from 9am to 4pm. Dem talk say areas like National Hospital, G2 Injection Station, Garki, and Asokoro go experience seven-hour power cut because of di maintenance.
TCN Public Affairs GM, Ndidi Mbah, talk say di power outage wey Abuja DisCo dey face no fit be avoided due to di inability of dem to receive bulk power supply during di maintenance period.
