Yola, Adamawa State
Na wa o! E be like say Adamawa State government don carry serious steps enter agriculture matter as dem don approve N3 billion for farmers. Dis money no be joke, my paddy! Na for buy better agricultural inputs to boost food production and make sure say we no dey chop belleful.
Dis initiative wey dem just unveil go cover all the local government areas (LGA) for Adamawa. Dem go dey distribute fertilizers, high-quality seeds, and other wetin farmers need to grow ground. E no just stop for so, dis program dey focus on smallholder farmers, especially young people and women wey dey face wahala for this farming business. (Abeg how many times we go hear say “women and youth empowerment”? You fit count?
David F. Jatau, the Commissioner for Agriculture, come yarn say dem don develop 300 hectares of farmland for each LGA to share among 300 beneficiaries. This na serious jackpot! He talk say dem don set up committee wey go finalize who go fit collect the land. Dem go work with traditional councils, local government officials, security agencies, and groups for youth and women so say everybody fit shimmer chance (this wahala wey dem call transparency).
According to Jatau, dis initiative go help combat hunger sharply and promote economic stability for Adamawa State. Na so e be! The state government dey partner with NGOs and agricultural development agencies, and some organizations don even gree to cultivate over 2,700 hectares of land across plenty LGAs, just to support this plan. (If dis no be community work, wetin e be?)
Dem go also provide technical assistance for the participating farmers, including trained agricultural extension workers wey go show them the ropes and best practices (we no wan hear say farmers no sabi wetin dem dey do again!). “No be just to share inputs,” Jatau emphasize. “Na to equip our farmers, especially young people and women with the knowledge and tools wey dem need to flourish.”
As we dey look forward, dis Adamawa agricultural initiative go jam ground for phases. The first wave of distributions and land preparations go start soon. Omo, we dey watch! Make we no forget, hungry man no get choice. We dey pray make e work out well for dem!
