Yobe State government don dey collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to ensure that the 2025 budget reflect the real needs of the people. ActionAid Nigeria, one of the NGOs involved, has been urging residents of Yobe State to actively participate in the budget formulation process.
Mr David Habba, the Humanitarian and Resilience Manager at ActionAid Nigeria, emphasize the importance of community involvement in budget planning. He say that this will help ensure that the budget address the critical needs of the community, especially in areas affected by recent floods and other humanitarian crises.
The recent floods in Yobe State have left many communities in dire need of assistance. Organizations like the North East Development Commission (NEDC) have been providing relief items to flood victims, but there is a growing need for sustainable solutions that can be integrated into the state’s budget.
