Chocolate City sue Odumodublvck for assault of employee

Nigerian entertainment company, Chocolate City Limited, don take legal action against rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, wey dem know as Odumodublvck. The matter na about alleged physical assault wey involve one of the company employees during 2025 Flytime Music Festival for Lagos.

Court documents wey come out show say the suit file for High Court of Lagos State, Lagos Judicial Division. Chocolate City employee Tochukwugbubemi Ojogwe name as claimant, and Odumodublvck na defendant.

According to the court filing, the incident happen on December 22, 2025, at Eko Convention Centre, venue of Flytime Festival, wey be one of Nigeria biggest yearly entertainment events. The full details of the altercation no don come out, and the matter now dey for court.

For the Statement of Claim, the claimant describe himself as “a Nigerian citizen, a professional Project Manager and public relations officer in the Nigerian music and entertainment industry, an employee of Chocolate City Limited and a law-abiding member of society whose livelihood and professional reputation depends on his physical safety, emotional well-being, and ability to perform professional obligations without intimidation or violence.”

The suit identify the defendant as “a musician and an entertainment artiste known professionally as ‘Odumodublvck’.” According to the claimant, he dey at Flytime Festival for official duty. The filing say, “The Claimant was backstage in the company of the said artiste, the artiste’s personal security bouncer and some accredited event security personnel amongst others, while lawfully carrying out his professional duties.”

The claimant allege say Odumodublvck approach the backstage area and first interact cordially with many people. But later, the interaction turn violent. The court documents say, “Shortly thereafter, the Defendant sighted the Claimant and walked up to him under the pretense of initiating a casual conversation, asking whether it was the Claimant or his brother that worked at Chocolate City.”

The claimant allege say the rapper then physically attack am without any provocation. “The Claimant avers that without any provocation, justification, or lawful excuse whatsoever, the Defendant forcefully struck the Claimant in the face and immediately thereafter pushed him,” the document tok.

Now, the claimant dey seek compensation for medical expenses wey he incur because of the incident. “The Claimant shall, at the trial of this suit, rely on the relevant receipts and other supporting documents in proof of the foregoing expenses,” the filing state.

The claimant also allege say the incident happen during festive period, wey be one of the busiest seasons for entertainment industry. “The Claimant avers that the said medical incapacity occurred during the festive season, being one of the busiest and most commercially intensive periods in the Nigerian music and entertainment industry,” the document tok.

He further claim say the injuries disrupt many professional engagements and prevent am from travelling outside Nigeria with a Chocolate City artiste for scheduled work. “The Claimant further states that he was scheduled to travel outside Nigeria with a Chocolate City artiste for professional engagements but was unable to do so by reason of the said injuries and trauma, thereby losing valuable professional exposure and career opportunities,” e tok.

The Claimant dey also seek N50 million as compensation for financial losses. “Fifty Million Naira only), representing income from delayed project deliverables, estimated loss of productivity, and missed engagements which the Claimant would ordinarily have earned from confirmed professional bookings,” the filing tok.

Beyond the money, the suit allege say the incident cause physical pain, emotional distress, and reputational damage. According to the filing, “By reason of the Defendant’s wrongful and unlawful acts, he has suffered severe physical pain, emotional distress, embarrassment, and psychological trauma, which have substantially impaired his capacity to carry out his professional duties as a Public Relations Officer in the highly competitive entertainment industry.”

The claimant further allege say the incident subject am to public ridicule, damage im standing within entertainment industry, and disrupt im career progression. He claim say he dey continue to experience anxiety, loss of confidence, and apprehension for both personal and professional interactions, and he need ongoing therapeutic treatment.

Plus, the claimant allege say “the Defendant’s conduct was high-handed, malicious, and calculated to intimidate and demean him,” and add say the defendant “has shown no remorse whatsoever and has, rather, persisted in acts and assertions capable of further injuring the Claimant’s dignity and reputation.”

The court filing also disclose say after the incident, the claimant instruct im solicitors to issue formal demand to the defendant for compensation. The case go proceed before Lagos State High Court, where both parties go get chance to present evidence. As of the time of filing this report, Odumodublvck no don publicly respond to the allegations.
