Oyo State House of Assembly don approve Governor Seyi Makinde request to go on annual leave. The leave go start from August 1 to September 5, 2026.
During plenary on Thursday, the Deputy Speaker, Mr Muhammed Fadeyi, read the governor letter wey inform lawmakers say Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal go oversee state affairs.
Fadeyi preside over the plenary because Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin no dey present. The lawmakers unanimously grant the request, expressing confidence say governance go continue smoothly under Lawal.
Dem task Lawal to handle day-to-day administration of the state, make sure government activities no stop until Makinde return.
After the approval, Fadeyi wish the governor peaceful and refreshing vacation. The deputy speaker say the legislative arm remain committed to cordial relations with executive for the benefit of Oyo people.
Fadeyi also express confidence for deputy governor ability to provide effective leadership, based on past experience. He describe state governance structure as stable and capable of ensuring policy continuity.
