Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, don honour invitation from Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as part of ongoing investigation into activities of disputed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).
His lawyer, Jiti Ogunye, confirm the development for statement wey e release on Monday, saying Gbajabiamila appear before anti-corruption agency in compliance with President Tinubu directive.
“In full cooperation with the ICPC acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the ‘PFIPC’ fake agency, among others.
“My client gave his testimony, responded to questions accordingly, and has returned to his duty post,” the lawyer say.
Adeyemi also alleged say the Chief of Staff receive ₦400 million through proxy and request additional ₦200 million to facilitate presidential approvals.
Gbajabiamila don deny the allegations for statement on oath, maintaining say e no get personal, official or professional relationship with Adeyemi.
E also deny demanding or receiving any money, abusing e office or interfering with law enforcement agencies.
The Chief of Staff further deny any involvement for alleged death of Babatunde Tanimola, wey Adeyemi claim act as intermediary, as well as allegations linking am to alleged assassination attempt on defendant or interference with investigations by security agencies.
Following the allegations, President Bola Tinubu direct ICPC to investigate the matter.
Last week, Gbajabiamila institute ₦15 billion defamation suit against Adeyemi for High Court of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, over kickback allegations.
For the suit, e dey seek ₦10 billion for general damages, ₦5 billion for aggravated damages, ₦200 million as cost of action, and order directing Adeyemi to publish retraction and apology for five national newspapers and across all social media platforms where alleged defamatory statements were published.

Adeyemi also arrested by police for Osun State after court issue bench warrant for e arrest following e failure to appear for e scheduled arraignment.
