Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru don finally break silence over viral video wey claim say he dey sick well well. Di actor wey be 56 years old describe di whole tori as fabricated, malicious, and work of merchants of darkness.
Duru for im Instagram video talk say di video wey show am for frail state no be true reflection of im health. He say: ‘I am making this video with regard to very wicked videos circulating around about me being sick to the level that you could see in that video.’
Di actor bluntly deny say im ever be dat sick. He say: ‘Well, I have never been that sick and will never be that sick. And by God’s grace, we keep being stronger and stronger.’
Francis Duru condemn those wey create di video, accuse dem say dem dey deliberately concoct negativity to attract traffic online. He call dem ‘merchants of darkness, of wickedness, people who sit and concoct negativity for people.’
He add say: ‘You just don’t want to see people rise. You just don’t believe in people’s success, all in the course of driving traffic.’
Di actor also raise concern about di growing use of manipulated content and possible artificial intelligence tools to mislead public and damage people reputation. He warn: ‘And if this is what social media is all about or AI, then we are in big trouble indeed.’
Duru reveal say di rumour don frighten some of im friends and acquaintances, many of whom reach out in fear and confusion. He urge public to disregard any report suggesting say im dey critically ill.
He say: ‘This is just to let you guys know that this is me talking to you. Anything beyond this is their business.’ He add say im decide to release di video to calm those wey don worry by false reports.
‘Please, my friends who have been embarrassed, scared, even to call me, and those who just call for calling sake, just to know whether it is true, well, this is me,’ he conclude.
