Nollywood actor Jim Iyke don open up about wetin cause im marriage to collapse, as e tok say im emotional struggles change im personality and affect im relationship with im wife.
For interview with Chude Jideonwo, Jim Iyke explain say im lost im spark and confidence for one difficult period for im life, and dis change make am withdraw from im role as husband and focus all im energy on fatherhood.
The actor confess say im become obsessive stay-at-home dad, giving everything to im son but neglecting im wife dem emotional needs.
“I lost my spark, and my wife suffered for it. Then I became an obsessive dad. I gave everything in me to my son. I was a proper stay-at-home dad,” Jim Iyke tok.
According to am, im wife later tell am say she no fit find di man wey she marry again, and e admit say im tell her say e no know how long e go take to heal and bring imself back.
Jim Iyke say e ask her to wait for am, but e understand say she no fit, so dem shake hand and part as friends.
The actor explain say di emotional phase push am to focus all im attention on raising im son, while im marriage suffer because e become distant from im partner.
E say e spend most of im time at home caring for im child and gradually stop showing up emotionally for di marriage.
Jim Iyke admit say while e become fully committed to fatherhood, im wife struggle to recognise di man wey she marry before di changes begin.
The actor say e be honest with her about im situation and explain say e no know how long e go take to recover emotionally and return to im normal self.
“I lost the lion in me, I lost the lead in me, I just gave myself to the element, and so she suffered for that. And then I became an obsessive dad. I gave everything in me to my son. I was the proper stay-at-home dad. I took everything to him and left her behind, I took all my love and attention and left her behind,” Jim Iyke tok.
