Scattered storms dey continue for Memorial Day across Florida

Florida weather pattern no dey change as we enter Memorial Day weekend. Meteorologists dey track scattered showers and thunderstorms wey go affect many parts of the state.

For Tallahassee area, Cameron Aaron from WCTV report say muggy conditions with scattered storms go continue. Sunday evening fit get some storms wey go bring heavy rain, gusty winds, and plenty lightning. But e no go rain for everybody, so make you keep umbrella close.

After sunset, storms go begin weaken slowly. Sunday night go still get some leftover showers, but most areas go dry and muggy. Lows go fall for upper-60s and low-70s.

Memorial Day Monday go be like copy-and-paste forecast. Scattered showers and thunderstorms go still dey possible, and some fit be strong. Temperature go reach upper-80s under partly sunny sky. Monday night go get lower rain chance, with lows for upper-60s and low-70s.

For middle of week, forecast remain stagnant. Tuesday and Wednesday go partly sunny and muggy, with highs for upper-80s and low-90s. Afternoon and evening go get random pop-up showers and storms. Lows go mild for upper-60s and low-70s.

Thursday fit get slight dip for rain chances. Spotty showers and thunderstorms still possible, but no go widespread. Highs go reach low-90s under mix of sun and clouds. Lows go dip into low-70s.

Friday go bring more scattered rain and storm chances to close work week. Highs go hover for low-90s under partly cloudy sky. Lows go settle for low-70s.

For South Florida, Charlotte Carl from WPEC report say typical late-spring pattern go continue through holiday weekend. Scattered to numerous afternoon showers and thunderstorms go focus mainly for interior. East to southeast breeze go push storms inland each afternoon, so rain chances go lower along east coast metro but increase for west.

Inland communities fit get rain chances as high as 40-50%. While widespread severe weather no expect, stronger storms fit produce gusty winds, frequent lightning, and brief heavy downpours. Storm activity go gradually fade during evening hours.

Heat and humidity remain major concern. Afternoon temperatures go rise into upper-80s near coast and low to mid-90s inland. Combined with humidity, heat index values go climb into upper-90s and lower-100s each afternoon through early next week.

For beaches, high risk of rip currents continue along Atlantic beaches through at least early next week. Weather pattern go become increasingly active during middle of next week as deeper tropical moisture move into region. This fit lead to periods of heavier rainfall and more widespread thunderstorm coverage.

There be some chatter about chances for area to develop into tropical system, but chances very low. Even if materialize, area of low pressure no go see development until off Florida coast, traveling north towards Carolinas.

For Southwest Florida, WINK News report say after afternoon and evening of scattered storms, rain chances go end for night. Rest of night go feature partly cloudy skies and temperatures for mid-70s. Sunday start dry and mild, heat up fast into mid-90s again. Feels like temperatures go be around triple-digit mark. Rain chances tick up slightly, with storms developing around 3 to 4 PM and lingering into evening hours. Some northern areas fit see few showers stick around into late night.

Recent model runs dey ease rain chances a bit for Memorial Day plans, with about 30% chance of afternoon storms. That mean many areas stay dry, but no everybody, so good to keep umbrella nearby. Later for week, tropical moisture go usher in higher rainfall chances, also lowering next weekend temperatures into upper-80s. We fit use rain, as all of SWFL still dey under extreme drought conditions.

If you dey plan to get out on water, aim for morning hours. Storms dey expect to reach coast between 1 and 2 PM. Winds go be out of southeast at 5 to 10 knots, with light chop on bays. Overall, no bad day on water, but make you pack plenty water and keep eye on radar.
