IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians don suffer, Sunrisers Hyderabad dey hot

Wednesday, another round of action for 2026 Indian Premier League, and our cricket betting tips head to Mumbai as the Indians host an in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad side at the Wankhede Stadium.

SRH arrive on the back of four consecutive wins, sitting third in the table on 10 points and firmly in the play-off picture. Mumbai, by contrast, are in freefall. After a promising start, they have lost five of their seven games – including a 103-run hammering by Chennai Super Kings, the heaviest defeat in the franchise’s IPL history. With just four points on the board, Wednesday’s game is quickly becoming a must-win.

The best cricket bets today from James are available via PricedUp. AM UK Time, on 29 April. The form gap between these two sides could not be much wider right now. SRH have posted 200 or more in five of their eight innings this season, while MI head into this having been bowled out for 104 by the Chennai Super Kings on Thursday. Something has to give at a ground that has already seen three totals above 218 in IPL 2026.

At the heart of SRH’s batting brilliance is Abhishek Sharma. The left-hander holds the Orange Cap with 380 runs from eight games at a stunning strike rate of 212, including a 135 not out from just 68 balls against Delhi. He is the most destructive opener in the competition and, on a ground with short square boundaries and a flat deck, he looks fantastic value at 5/2 to top-score for the visitors with PricedUp. He will be supported by Heinrich Klaasen, who has scored 349 runs this season and has a fine record against Mumbai. Together, they make SRH a dangerous proposition from ball one, and I like them at 4/6 to post the highest powerplay score of the match. MI have conceded 60-plus in the first six overs in four of their last five home games, and SRH’s openers have already posted 105 without loss in a powerplay this season.

Mumbai do have some quality to call upon. Suryakumar Yadav has shown flashes of brilliance, Tilak Varma struck a 45-ball century against the Gujarat Titans last week, and Rohit Sharma is set to return from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined. Averaging over 40 at the Wankhede, his potential comeback will be a huge boost for the Indians. The concern is everything around them. Jasprit Bumrah is yet to hit his stride, while captain Hardik Pandya has contributed just 97 runs in six innings.

The head-to-head record favours MI, who lead this rivalry 15-10 and have won four of the last five meetings. Home advantage also counts for something, but current form is too stark to ignore, and SRH at 6/5 to win the match is my cricket best bet today.
