Alcaraz dey struggle for Monte Carlo Masters as Sinner dey cruise to semifinals

Monte Carlo Masters don turn serious tennis battleground, and Carlos Alcaraz dey show signs of struggle even as he dey advance. The world number one manage to reach quarter-finals, but the journey no sweet at all. Against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Alcaraz cruise through first set 6-1, but second set turn wahala. He pile up 23 unforced errors before dropping the set. The boy no look settled at all.

Etcheverry deserve credit for how he play, but Alcaraz own problem dey deeper. The young champion dey in constant discussion with his coach, Samuel Lopez, and wetin dem hear him talk fit worry any fan. Alcaraz tell Lopez say, “It’s really hard to trust it when I don’t have the feeling with the ball right now.” That kind talk no dey sound like champion wey dey confident.

Alcaraz manage to steady himself and close out the match, but tougher tests dey ahead. Next up na Alexander Bublik, and Alcaraz need to find his groove quick quick. If he manage to win this year again, he go join select group of players wey don defend their title at Monte Carlo for this century. He go follow footsteps of his former coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, Rafael Nadal, and Stefanos Tsitsipas if he pull am off.

Why Alcaraz dey find am tough for Monte Carlo? The transition from hard courts to clay no easy at all. He face two players wey sabi clay surface straight away. Sebastian Baez and Etcheverry don already spend time on clay earlier for the year, taking part for events during South American swing back for February. Bublik wey dey next may no be traditional clay-courter, but he don put together impressive run on this surface over past year. Since May 2025 at Italian Open, Bublik hold 19-2 record on clay and dey currently ride 10-match win streak. Alcaraz never beat Bublik for their previous meetings, so he need to hit top form if he want change that record.

Meanwhile, for other side of tournament, Jannik Sinner dey cruise. The Italian star beat Auger-Aliassime to advance to semifinals of Monte Carlo Masters. Sinner own journey dey smoother compared to Alcaraz own. He dey match records wey Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic set before. Tomas Machac don react after ending Jannik Sinner streak of consecutive sets won at Masters events, but Sinner still dey show why he remain serious contender.

Alexander Zverev also dey make waves. He beat Joao Fonseca to advance to semifinals at Monte Carlo Masters. The tournament dey hot, and every match dey matter. For tennis fans wey dey watch, Monte Carlo Masters dey show who get real clay court pedigree and who still dey find footing.

Alcaraz need to find that feeling with ball quick quick. The boy get talent, no doubt. But for clay court, confidence and rhythm na everything. If he no settle soon, Bublik fit shock am. And for tennis world wey dey always look for next big thing, Alcaraz struggle dey remind everybody say even champions get off days. But champions also know how to bounce back. The next match go tell us if Alcaraz don find that feeling or if Monte Carlo go be another learning experience.
