Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, wey dey represent Kogi Central for Senate, don use dis Easter period to preach peace and unity for Kogi State. For di Easter message wey she release on Sunday, Natasha talk say Easter na time for sacrifice, renewal and hope. She yarn say di season remind us say light fit win over darkness, hope fit win over despair, and love fit win over hate. “Na sacred period wey call for reflection, reconciliation, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence,” she add.

Di senator stress say unity remain very important if Kogi Central and di whole state wan develop well. She talk say meaningful progress fit only happen for peaceful environment. “Our strength lies in our unity, and together we can build a more prosperous and secure society,” she yarn.

But Natasha no only talk about peace. She also use di opportunity to push Kogi residents to participate for di upcoming Permanent Voter’s Card revalidation exercise wey Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announce. She describe am as crucial step to strengthen democratic governance.

“This is not just a civic duty but a powerful tool for shaping our collective future,” di senator yarn. “Your vote is your voice. By participating in the revalidation process, you are securing your right to decide the leadership and direction of our state and nation.”

According to her, voter participation remain powerful tool for shaping di future. She encourage citizens to either update dia details online or visit designated centres for di exercise. She add say active engagement for electoral process go make sure say di voices of di pipo dey reflect for leadership and governance.

Di call come as INEC plan to start nationwide revalidation of voters’ register. For public notice wey di commission issue via its official X handle on Friday, dem talk say di exercise go target removal of “null and ineligible voters, such as deceased, non-Nigerians, underage, and multiple registrations,” according to legal provisions.

INEC clarify say di exercise no be fresh registration but apply specifically to voters wey dem capture between 2011 and 2024. Na part of efforts to strengthen credibility and integrity of Nigeria electoral process.

Amid rising political activities ahead of future elections, Akpoti-Uduaghan stress say unity remain critical to sustainable development. She urge residents to rise above ethnic, religious, and political divisions.
