Wetin be visa-free? For countries wey get visa-free agreements with Ghana, travellers no need to apply for visa at all. Dem just buy ticket, carry passport, and enter. For example, all 15 ECOWAS member kontris no need visa to enter Ghana. Ghana also get visa-free deals with Kenya, South Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, Rwanda, Eswatini, Malawi, Tanzania, Algeria, and many kontris for Americas and Asia.

But dis new free visa regime na different tin. For African kontris wey dey require visa to enter Ghana, dem still go need to apply for visa. Only difference be say dem no go pay any fee. Na free visa, not visa-free. Travellers must apply through new e-Visa system, meet all requirements, and if approved, dem go get visa without paying money.

Minister Ablakwa yarn say dis new e-Visa system go link to Ghana newly established API-PNR system and international crime database. Dis one go allow consular officers to check background of applicants properly. E go help protect Ghana security. Di API-PNR system na automated system wey governments and airlines dey use to collect passenger data for immigration and security control.

Ghana already get free visa regime with Egypt. Ghanaian wey dey travel to Egypt must apply for visa with all required paperwork, but dem no pay fee. Egyptians wey dey come Ghana also apply for visa, but no fees. Na similar system dem wan extend to all African kontris.
