US Congressman dey warn Nigeria say America go take action if killings no stop

Wetin dey happen for Nigeria don catch attention of America well well. One US Congressman wey dem call Riley Moore don warn say if Nigerian government no quick quick stop di killings wey dey happen for different parts of di country, America go step in take direct action.

Moore yarn dis matter during interview with Newsmax TV for Wednesday. Di lawmaker say im don submit report to White House wey recommend “concrete actions” to address di violence wey e describe as genocide against Christians for Nigeria. “Dis report wey we present to White House na because President Donald Trump ask myself and Chairman Tom Cole to investigate dis Christian persecution,” Moore talk.

Di congressman wey recently visit Nigeria say im see di tragedy with im own eyes. “We go there. I see am with my own eyes, di tragedy and horror wey dey unfold there,” e add. Moore mention some recent attacks like di one wey happen during Palm Sunday service wey about 40 pipo die, and anoda attack for Christian wedding wey kill 13 pipo.

Di warning come as violence still dey happen for Plateau State. At least 28 pipo die for Angwan Rukuba for Jos North Local Government Area. Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang describe di attack as “tragic” and “senseless,” and e promise say dem go bring di pipo wey do am to justice.

Moore warn say United States fit escalate im involvement if Nigerian authorities no respond well to di situation. “As President Trump don talk clear for dis matter, if dem no address am, we go address am for dem,” e talk. “We like to do am with cooperation and coordination, but if dem no step up to di plate here, we go start to take di lead.”

America get small military presence for Nigeria now – about 200 personnel wey dey give training and intelligence support to Nigerian security forces. Moore mention say US military assets for di region include MQ-9 Reaper drones and e reference Tomahawk cruise missile strike around Christmas wey target Islamic State and Boko Haram militants.

Despite all dis efforts, e say extremist groups still dey operate “largely unfettered.” “Di Nigerian government don try to make some steps toward dis, but dem no dey do am fast enough. Things no dey happen quick enough, and dese things keep happening,” Moore talk. “Something don tire for here.”

Di congressman also cite data from Open Doors, one global Christian charity wey rank Nigeria as seventh worst country for Christian persecution. Di report say about 72 percent of global Christian killings last year happen for Nigeria.

But di claims don cause debate. One report by The New York Times note say some US lawmakers don “falsely claim” say Christian genocide dey happen for Nigeria, and argue say di violence complex and affect pipo across different religious and ethnic groups. Nigerian government don repeatedly reject allegations of genocide.

Moore criticize di newspaper, describe im position as “disgusting” and accuse am of no seek im input. While e acknowledge say multiple factors fit contribute to di violence, di congressman insist say extremist groups dey deliberately target Christian communities. “Dey get systemic effort by Islamic radicals to eliminate Christian populations within Nigeria,” e talk.

Di warning come as calls dey grow for stronger security measures and greater international cooperation to address Nigeria’s deepening security crisis. Di situation remain tense as communities across Plateau State and neighbouring regions continue to face persistent insecurity.
