Obera Tenis Club (OTC) go face Boca Juniors for one big basketball match tonight for Argentina National Basketball League (LNB). The match go hold for Dr. Luis Augusto Derna stadium for 9pm, and OTC dey try to maintain their number one position for the table.
OTC wey dem dey call “Celeste” don win 19 matches from 29 games wey dem play so far. Dem just win their last match against Independiente de Oliva with 104-96 score. Their coach, Fabio Demti, don lead dem to three straight wins – against Olimpico, Ferro, and Independiente (O).
Boca Juniors wey be current two-time champion dey come with seven matches without any loss. Dem get 17 wins from 29 matches and dey for sixth position for the table. Dem just win their last match against Atenas de Cordoba with 80-71 score.
This na the second time both teams go meet this season. For December 16 last year, OTC beat Boca Juniors 70-80 for away match. Bruno Sansimoni, OTC point guard, talk say “this match go hard like the ones we don dey play; we dey fine, with energy and focus for this match. We know say we must focus for defense, dem be team with many points for different hands. We too get our own tools and we hope to continue with this level.”
The regular season go end for late April, and every point dey important now. Teams wey want enter quarter-finals directly must perform well. After this match, OTC go play against Gimnasia de Comodoro Rivadavia for Saturday 11:30am, then against Ferro for Wednesday April 8.
For the junior league (Liga Proximo), OTC and Boca Juniors go play from 5pm for the same stadium today. OTC junior team get 14 wins and 15 losses, while Boca junior team get 9 wins and 20 losses. For their last meeting for December 15, OTC beat Boca Juniors 67-97.
OTC don play three straight home matches now. Dem dey try to become the number one team for regular season. If dem win all their remaining seven matches, including tonight match against Boca, dem go achieve this goal. But dem must finish with better win-loss record than their rivals like Quimsa, Gimnasia (CR), Independiente (O), La Union de Formosa, Ferro, and Obras.
If OTC and Quimsa finish with same record, Quimsa go win because dem beat OTC for their two matches this season. But against Gimnasia (CR), OTC don already win one match 87-80 and dem go play again for Saturday. Against other teams like La Union de Formosa and Ferro, OTC get positive record.
The match tonight go be tough because Boca Juniors dey come with good form, but OTC dey strong for their home ground. Fans dey expect full stadium and exciting basketball action as both teams fight for important points before season end.
