This one na him fourth time to dey try for governorship position.
Isiaka wey dey chair House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, yarn this news to journalists for Abeokuta on Sunday. Him talk say him don begin consultations with party stakeholders according to All Progressives Congress requirements. The lawmaker tok say him don dey meet stakeholders for past three weeks to make dem know say him dey for 2027 governorship race.
For him statement, Isiaka dey confident say him experience and understanding of Ogun State political and economic landscape go help am win. Him talk say him ambition na to build more economically viable state through industrialization, better healthcare and education, plus job creation. Him dey emphasize say him na bona fide indigene of Ogun State with strong academic background and plenty experience.
The lawmaker also address gist wey dey fly say Governor Dapo Abiodun dey sponsor him ambition. Isiaka deny am completely, talk say him decision to run na personal one. Him yarn say, “I should let you know that I am running for the governorship of the state for 2027, though a formal declaration will be made very soon, but it is good to let you, the media, as major stakeholders in our democratic process, know that I am interested in this race.”
Isiaka talk say if dem elect am, him administration go build on achievements of current government under Governor Abiodun. Him mention say seaport development, oil producing status, infrastructure scaling, qualitative healthcare and education na all possible projects wey go make life better for Ogun residents.
The politician also call for level playing field for selection of party governorship candidate. Him urge All Progressives Congress to follow fairness, equity and transparency. Na important to note say this na Isiaka fourth attempt to become Ogun State governor. Him first contest for 2011 election under Peoples Party of Nigeria but lose to former governor Ibikunle Amosun. For 2015, him run under Peoples Democratic Party platform, and for 2019, him contest under African Democratic Congress. All attempts no successful. After all these, Isiaka join All Progressives Congress and win Imeko-Afon/Yewa North Federal Constituency seat for 2023 general election.
