Today, I swore in the new Head of Akwa Ibom State Civil Service, Mrs. Elsie Anietie Peters. I tell am say make she lead new drive for training, professionalism, and efficiency for our workforce. Civil Service dey important for our ARISE Agenda, and under her, we go continue to strengthen capacity and deliver beta service to our people.
As government wey sabi the importance of workers, we dey dedicated to their welfare. When we enter, the backlog for gratuity na ₦110 billion (from 2012 till May 29, 2023). But in just over two years, we don pay over ₦75.2 billion, including the latest ₦1.3 billion wey don clear all arrears from 2012 to March 2021. We go keep paying until we settle the remaining balance completely.
I also remind all appointees and workers say loyalty, faithfulness, and commitment no be negotiable matter. We all gatz work together to keep Akwa Ibom peaceful, focused, and progressing.
Big thanks to Elder Effiong Essien for him many years of service, and I dey hope say Mrs. Peters go build on dis legacy and carry our Civil Service go higher.
