Today, I don present di 2026 Appropriation Bill of ₦1.39 trillion wey dem call The People’s Budget of Expansion and Growth to di Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Dis budget dey aimed to boost di ARISE Agenda, as e go focus on food security, rural development, completing key infrastructures, tourism growth, security improvement, better access to quality education and healthcare, support for MSMEs, and push for renewable energy plus environmental sustainability.
For di 2026 budget, dem don allocate ₦354.8 billion (25%) for recurrent expenses, while ₦1.035 trillion (75%) go for capital projects. Dis one na intentional move to stimulate growth, increase economic activities, and create plenty jobs for di state.
Di budget go also provide strong support for roads and infrastructure, education, health, tourism, and other vital sectors wey dey drive our long-term development.
I wan show appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for di reforms wey don increase di resources wey dey available for di states. We dey committed to managing public funds well, with transparency, and we go deliver on all di promises wey we don make under di ARISE Agenda.
