Masquerade Ban: For Peace and Safety in Akwa Ibom This Christmas!

Governor of Akwa Ibom State don sign Executive Order wey go ban masquerade activities for street and highway for the state. Dis decision no be small one, as e dey aim to protect the people from harassment, violence, and disarray wey don dey happen since recently.

Di governor acknowledge say e respect our culture well well. But e talk say no cultural practice suppose dey put life for risk or disturb how we dey live together. If anybody wan display masquerade, e go make sense say dem keep am for village square, no be for road or community wey plenty people dey waka.

This Christmas season, we dey expect plenty visitors to come our state, and we suppose show say Akwa Ibom dey peaceful, organized, and safe for everybody. Di governor don give order to security agencies to make sure say dis ban dey enforced for all di 31 local government areas.

E also talk say dem go continue to promote our culture and tourism, but dem no go do am at di expense of public safety or human dignity.
